Just discovered this fascinating blog (in German and English):

Its subject matter deals in all things from the time period of my beloved Smiths & Goslings! Recent entries are the birthday of Goethe; and a couple lovely portraits assessed for their clothing and hair styles. Check it out!

Oh wow, thank you for the mention, which is very much appreciated!
I think the key to understanding fashion from a period is to learn as much as possible about people and live in general back then, therefore I like to browse your site :)

      Gruess Dich, Sabine!

I love your site — maybe I”ll even get back to my study of German…

There is much to learn about this period, and first person are FASCINATING reads! But the visuals — like those portraits — are what really make history come alive. To see the clothing, the hairstyles. Just wonderful. So thank YOU for finding such wonderful images and posting about them.
